Ayo Bakare Resigns As NBBF Technical Director.

Former Coach of Nigeria's D'Tigers, Ayodele Bakare, has resigned as the technical director of Nigeria Basketball Federation,NBBF, after due consideration, discussion and consultations between the federation and himslef.

Bakare, who qualified Nigeria's D'Tigers to its first Olympic Games in London 2012, said the decision to vacate the role of Technical Director was mutual and amicable as it is not as a result of consequence of or reaction to any event or incidents, stressing that he has personal and professional regards for the President of Nigeria Basketball Federation,Tijani Umar and his administration.

The basketball who according to him want to completely stay off of the sport for a period of time, said he would continue to support and serve Nigerian basketball as sincerely as he had done in the past twenty- five years, adding that he had amicable discussion with top hierarchy of the NBBF over his resignation

While pledging to continue supporting the game of basketball in Nigeria, said he and his technical crew had been able to elevate the status of Nigeria in the FIBA's rankings as the nation is ranked 18th in the world.
