After qualifying for the finals of the African Women Championship (AWC) billed for Namibia in October, the Super Falcons have been told to proceed on a break till further notice by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The Super Falcons who have won the AWC eight times booked their place in the tournament by dismissing Rwanda on an aggregate score of 12-1 after their first round opponents Sierra Leone withdrew from the first round qualifiers.

Coach of the team, Edwin Okon who addressed the players after their 8-0 return leg victory over Rwanda at the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna urged them to return to their respective clubs and work hard to earn a place in the next camping.

"As you return to your clubs, i want you all to keep your heads cool and don't allow this little success and money get into your head. I would be monitoring you to ensure that you maintain your fitness and form. I would not invite any player that falls below expectation as we regroup" said the Rivers Angels coach

He said that the team will most likely regroup after the World Cup in Brazil in July adding that he would liaise with the NFF and fix a date to open the camp.
