Staco Insurance PLC
has presented a cheque of Five Million Naira to the Honourable Commissioner of
Youth, Sports and Social Development (MYSSD), Mr. Wahid Enitan Oshodi towards
the support of Season 7 of MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship in his office
today at the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.
Mr. Tayo Ajibodu, an
Assistant Director who led Staco Insurance team to the very brief ceremony said
that his company is encouraged to associate with the Lagos State Government
drive of keeping the youth off the streets through positive engagement in
sporting activities.
Ajibodu commended the
efforts of the Honourable Commissioner, Wahid Enitan Oshodi for achieving
so much in sports in Lagos State within the shortest possible time on resumption
of Office in 2011. He further said that, Staco Insurance PLC is happy to
partner the State on the strength of these laudable achievements and also
opined that, Staco is ready to partner with the State Government on other
things.
Mr. Wahid Enitan Oshodi,
Honourable Commissioner of Youth, Sports and Social Development in his remarks
stated that Staco Insurance PLC has always been good friend of sports
development in the State. He enunciated further that the State would continue
to do more for the youth in sports, while reiterating his hopes for Staco
Insurance to insure MTN Lagos Street Soccer players. He disclosed to all that
Staco Insurance promptly paid all claims in last season edition of the
championship.
The Permanent
Secretary, Office of Sports MYSSD, Mr. Sewedo Oluseyi Whenu thanked Staco
Insurance PLC for this support towards the MTN Lagos Street soccer Championship
Season 7. He also expressed his delight in Staco for supporting the CAUSE of
the State Government in taking the youth off the streets by positively engaging
them in sports, albeit through the street soccer competition. And like Oliver
Twist he asked for more support from Staco Insurance PLC.
