The second leg of International Ram Friendly Contest will hold in Cotonou, Benin Republic this weekend.
A
Nigerian delegation comprises 12 executive members of Ram Sports
Association a.k.a Rams Owners Association of Nigeria, 30 officials and
rams between 15 to 20 will be taken part in the second leg contest. The
first leg was held recently in Lagos at Jalinco Sports Complex, Oshodi.
Chairman
of the association, Mr. Kayode Adumadehin said that all logistics for a
successful trip have been put in place, adding that the rams are also
in high spirit ahead of the contest as they are embarking on their first
trip outside Nigeria for the first time.
“We
have prepared for the second leg and my prayer is that the rams we are
taking to Benin Republic would be fit enough for the contest because of
the long distance.
“We
won the first leg and I believe we would do our best to ensure that we
defeat our hosts at their backyard this weekend,” said.
Adumadehin
described the international friendly contest as one of the ways his
association wants to use to spread the game of ram charging across West
African countries and build friendship relationship among youth.
“This
is the reason we are appealing to corporate organisations to invest in
this sport. This is our traditional sport and our people still follow
the game passionately,” he said.
