In its bid to give more Nigerian youngsters the opportunity to participate in the upcoming Dubai International Super Cup, the management of Buruj Sports Academy's management has extended its hand of fellowship to parents, players agents and academy managers across the country to register their players for the trip.
The Dubai International Super Cup is a brainchild of Team Tours Direct based in Swansea, United Kingdom, and Buruj Sports Academy is the only sports organisation in Nigeria that received a formal invitation letter to source for talented footballers both within and outside the Ikorodu,
Lagos-based academy, to come over and compete against their contemporaries from other parts of the globe where many soccer scouts and agents from top European clubs will be on ground to shop for young but exciting players for their respective clubs.
According to the details forwarded to Buruj, $900.00 is the registration fee for each player (excluding air-ticket) and that fee will cover registration, accommodation, feeding, transportation
and other logistics for all registered players.
All the games will be played inside the prestigious Dubai Sevens Stadium in the heart of the
city; and speaking on the new development, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed, the Managing Director of the academy that has unearthed and shipped so many players to some top clubs both home and abroad where they are now holding their own said:
"We want to extend the opportunity of participation in Dubai tournament which will hold between March ending and early April to other players who are not our product. The aim is to make it all-encompassing so that the very best who are also ready and serious get the opportunity to
showcase their potentials. Normally, we have enough players in our academy but we want to be fair to all and sundry."
"That's why we are calling on our friends in other academies to seize the opportunity to expose their players. We promise to be very thorough and professional in all our dealings and if we can get good sponsors through our contacts or through any of them- both corporate and individual, it will make our burden to be very light and everybody concerned will be treated fairly and based on merit," he said.
