About two hundred secondary schools pupils in Lagos State wil participate in the forthcoming Eko Under fifteen Secondary Schools Tennis Competition billed to stroke- off this month at the tennis courts of the National Stadium, Surulere.
The tournament, which is being organised by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sports, Adeyinka Adeboye, is geared at developing the game of tennis at the secndary school level and also encourage the pupils in playing tennis at a tender age.

Adeboye, explained that the tournament which would be organised with the
support of the Lagos State Tennis Association,LSTA, would go a long
way in arousing the interest of the pupils to the game of tennis as the
best talented tennis players would be supported with training kits and
educational materials.
Adeboye, who stressed that education plays vital role in the pupils career, said the discovered tennis players would be given necessary support to pursue academic excellence while pursuing their passion for sports, adding that the era of sports without education had gone into extinction in Lagos State as the state government always pay attention on education and sports.
