Segun TORIOLA (NGR) after losing 4-2 to Koki NIWA (JPN) in the Men’s Singles Round 2: 11-9, 5-11, 7-11, 11-4, 6-11, 1-11
Toriola's Quotation.
On whether the Nigerian men's team plan to emulate their famous Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games pants-down celebration (when they won bronze) if they win a medal here at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games:
"I think the celebration is going to be more crazy. We have a lot of ideas already, but we are going to surprise everybody if possible. It's going to be a very strange demonstration."
On whether the strange demonstration will involve pulling pants down again:
"Pants down in the public, is not a good idea, it's not good on camera."
On whether the 41-year-old is planning to go for an eighth Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020:
"Why not? If possible, why not? It's good to play at the Olympics, it's my seventh Olympics, but I always want to play more Olympics.”
"It's a matter of what's in the brain. If I believe I am still young in the brain it has a psychological effect. For athletes when you think you are old you have a problem, you get tired of working very hard, practising very hard, but when you don't think about your age it gives you motivation to work very hard."
On the chances of Nigerian rising star Aruna QUADRI:
"A lot of chances, he's playing very good but you never know, table tennis is difficult, the men's singles is very difficult, but I hope he's going to play better because it is not easy for him too, but he has a lot of chances.”
