Segun Odegbami Urges NFF To Send Football Scouts To NNPC/SHELL Cup Match Venues

The National Coaches of Golden Eaglets and flying Eagles have been charged to visit match venues in the nineteenth edition of NNPC/SHELL Cup in order to select football players who are suitable to their teams.
The Tournament's Initiator, Segun Odegbami, says the annual age-grade football competition has created a platform for the discovery of talented teenage football players from the secondary schools.
While thanking the sponsors for its consistent and passion for the growth of football and education inspite of the economic situation, said the objective of the competition was to keep the students within the school enviornment since its had the tools and personnels to engage the pupils by making them a good citizens.
He said the era of age-cheat at the national teams had been reduced based on the stringent measures put in place to encourage players who were still within school system, adding that the competition would truly produce the next Golden Eaglets players.
Odegbami added that the organisers would forward a list of talented football players to the national teams who could be invited for trials, stressing that the national coach always accord them respect based on their thorough screening for national teams trial.
