Its president, Musa Kida, who admitted that it was not an easy task to stabilize the game of basketball in Nigeria, said the federation had resolved to give the players the right platform in order to develop and reach the stars.
Kida, said Nigeria was one of the few countries left in Africa whose representatives for the newly introduced Afro League starting in 2019 had not be announced because the leagues had not been concluded.
The NBBF boss, said that the delay was a blessing in disguise as eventual qualifiers would head straight to the continent fresh from domestic league action which would be good for their overall outing.
He called on all stakeholders to join hands with the NBBF board in ensuring a successful basketball season.

Winner and first runners up will represent Nigeria at the FIBA Zone 3 Women Champions qualifiers in Cotonou between November 12th and 15th.
