Cowrie Topples ECO II On Rugby League Table.

Cowrie Rugby Football Club mauled Lagos Rugby Football Club by 55 points to nil in the second match of the 2nd week Rugby games of the ongoing 2010 Lagos Rugby Union League that took place over the weekend at the National Institute for Sports pitch of the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos.

The result pave the way for the Rugby team to topple Eco II Rugby Football Club on the Rugby League table.

According to the coordinator of the "Friends of Rugby" 2010 Lagos Rugby Union League program, Ntiense Williams,the Ajegunle Warrior - Eco II Rugby Football Club beat a stiff resilience from the hard fighting Police machine Rugby Football Club by 21 points to 17 in the first match of the day in a well balanced Rugby match.

The third game saw Addax Rugby Football Club playing a game of their life when they convincingly defeated an incomplete Young Lions Rugby Football Club by 50 points to 6
With the recorded results from the 2nd week matches in the ongoing 2010 Lagos Rugby Union League program, Cowrie Rugby Football Club gained a maximum 6 points from the 2nd week match to take its tally to 11 points on the Rugby League table.

Eco II RFC is now in second position with 10 points, while Addax Rugby Football Club climbed to 3rd position with 6 maximum points from the defeat of Young Lions RFC thereby displacing Lagos RFC who are now in 4th position with 5 points.

Police Machine Rugby Football Club are in 5th position with a 1 bonus point from their narrow defeat in the hands of Eco II RFC, While Young Lions RFC is yet to pick a point on the League table.

According to him, three Rugby players have emerged as the Most Valuable Players for their respective matches.

In the first match between Eco II RFC and Police RFC, Yahaya Samson who beat all comers in an 80meters dash from his 22meters to scored his teams second try of the day was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of that match.

He has so far won the MVP for the 2nd week running!

Azeez Ladipo who ignited the star match of the day and scored a total of 19 points to his credit in the mauling of Lagos RFC by Cowrie RFC to win the MVP Award for the 2nd game.

Sulaimon Oyebola of Addax RFC who scored an impressive 24 points against Young Lions RFC was adjudged the MVP of the 3rd match of the day.

A total of 149 points was scored in the 2nd week matches of the ongoing 2010 Lagos Rugby Union League program played over the weekend, with Azeez Ladipo of Cowrie RFC topping the Highest Points Scorers chart with 33 points to his credit.

He is closely followed by Sulaimon Oyebola of Addax RFC with 24 points while Gbenga Hamed of Eco II RFC is third with 16 points as the new kid on the block, Yahaya Samson of the Police RFC is in 4th position with 14 points.

Malik Ahmed of Eco II RFC has 11 points, while the following four players are on 10 points each- Jojo Jafar & Frank Adedeji of Cowrie RFC, Lloyd Okechi of Eco II RFC& Maleeq Saliyu of Police RFC are all with 10 points and Stephen Akpawon has 9 points to complete the top 10 Highest Points Scorers chart.

A total of 30 players have so far scored some points after the 2nd week matches of the ongoing 2010 Lagos Rugby Union League program.
