
The Presidential Task Force to the Super Eagles has paid the team's technical adviser, Lars Largerback, his salary for the month of May.
Its spokes person, Larry Izamoje, who declined to mention th exact amount of money paid as Lagerback salary in the month of May, said the Swede's salary which was paid on the fifth of this month was to encourage the soccer tactician to give his best at the World Cup.
The Chief Executive Officer of Brilla FM, who assured that Lagerback salary for the month of June nad July would be paid as at when due, said the Task Force has also supported the Nigeria Supporters Club with a sum of twenty million naira to lift the spirit of the team wneh the soccer mundial kicks off on the eleventh of June.
On the appontment of an Assitant coach through Lagerback, Izamoje, informed Sportsweight.blogspot.com that the PTF was not rsponsible for the salary of the Assistant coach whom lagerback recently required his service to build a virile squad aheda of the World Cup.
While in South Africa, Izamoje assured that the PTF would stay away from the team since their mandate was to only support the team with financial assistant.
Meanwhil, the Federal Government has released a sum of nine hundred million naira to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF in respect of the nation’s campaign at the 2010 World Cup finals which kicks off in South Africa on the eleventh of June.
The Secretary of the Presidential Task Force, Patrick Ekeji who announced this to newsmen in Abuja also stated that the PTF has donated a sum of twenty million naira to the Nigeria Supporters Club to assist the body to cheer te team to victory.
Ekeji stated that that the players have also been adequately motivated to get the best performance out of them at the competition.
He urged all Nigerians to intensify prayers for the team stressing that it would have been tragic if Nigeria failed to appear at the first ever World Cup to be hosted on African soil.
The PTF was set up in May 2009 by late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua to complement NFF’s efforts in getting Nigeria a ticket to the 2010 World Cup.
