Unity Bank Wins Kaduna Corporate League Soccer Cup

Unity Bank Plc has retained the Kaduna Corporate League after beating GTBank by four goal to three in an exciting final that came to a close yesterday at the kaduna township stadium.

The Bank retained the kaduna corporate league when it defeated new entrance GTBANK 4-3 in an exciting finals that some bank executive in anttendance.

The finals which started on a very high note saw GTBank scoring its first goal in the second minutes of the match through the most valuable player of the tournament Murtala Babatunde.

Unity Bank equalised a minute after through Jamilu Amadu as the bank again scored it second goal in the Thirty nineth minutes through last year's highest goal scorer Ibrahim Yakubu.

YakubU, also got the third goal in the 55th minute through a penalty as Gtbank reduced the tally through Murtala Babatunde in the 60th minute.

Babatunde made it a hatrick in the 65th minute to put scores at Three golas apiece.

Tukur Wada sealed the aspirations of GTBank when he scored the fourth goal when everyboy was already preparing for a penalty shoot.

Fidelity Bank defeated UBA 3-0 in the 3rd place match as Adeleke Odusanya was adjudged the highest goal scorer of the tournament netting five goals in the tourney.

He opened scoring for Fidelity Bank in the tenth minutes of the match while Christain Ogheji scored a brace to make it Three -nil .

The best goalkeeper award went to Mathew Moses of GTBank, the best defender award went to Nafiu Bello of Unity Bank.

The best midfielder award went to Tukur Wada also of Unity Bank while the most valuable player award went to Murtala Babatunde of GTBANK.

Aminu Suraj of Unity Bank won the best coach of the tournament as the best supporters club award went to GTBank, while Skye Bank won the fair play award.

Skye Bank won the first edition in 2008,while unity bank won the second editon in 2009.

Kaduna Corporate League Cup is a football tournament among staff of Banks, Telecoms and Insurance Companies and its being organised by Bestworth Insurance Brokers and supported by Wadson Sport International and Bertsway Interntional.
