401 Planners Grabs Guilder Five Million Naira

It was a jubilation time for 401 Planners of Ajegunle after wining the maiden edition of the Gulder Ultimate Five - A- Side Soccer which climaxed over the weekend inside the Indoor sports of National Stadium Gymnasium hall.

The team which is a veteran of Five - A- Side football competition having won the maiden of MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship beat Talent Builder Football Club of Lagos Island three - two on penalties after the match ended One goal apiece.

The tournament which attracted sports administrators and Sports Managers was played on an Astro Turf laid inside the Gymnasium hall of the National Stadium and it really worthy of commendation as the match venue was a beauty to behold.

The tournament which was a national event had twelve teams surviving the national elimination series of which six teams scaled through as 401 Planners F.C of Ajegunle confront Talent Builder of Lagos Island in the final while Royal F.C of Aba, and Royal Eagles F.C of Warri slug it out in the third place match.

The Builder Football Club which won the second edition of the MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship scored first in the second half after the Ajegunle boys failed to convert it scoring chances.

The Ajegunle boys came back into the game stronger with some minutes to end the match as the team equalised in the stoppage minutes to smile home Five Million Naira for the feat as the Lagos Island boys got Two million Niara.

The third place match went in favour of Royal Eagles of Warri after beating Royal Football Club of Aba by a lone goal to grab a sum of One million Naira.

The Five - A - Side Football competition was a clear indication that Nigeria would soon become a force to reckon with in Futsal Football following the players ability to understand and comply with the rules and regulations of the game.

The two sides that qualified for the Guilder Ultimate Five - A - Side Football competition were products of the MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship.
