Lagos Unity Cup Hots Up

As preparation for the International Youth Cup hot up, the Organising Committee of the championship led by Godson Uti has released the fixtures for the championship which start on Sunday till next Sunday.

Uti stated that, the need to name the teams on all match tickets and not enough available time has necessitated the need to draw the teams in alphabetical order as against the planned draw that was initially scheduled for August 1st 2010.

He said the Local Organising Committee has therefore resolved to draw the team in alphabetical order.

Next Tuesday, Lagos United will play Liberty FC of Ghana in the first match at while Supersport United of South Africa will play against Utrecht FC of Holland .

On fifth of August, Liberty FC will face Utrecht and Lagos United will play Supersport FC .

On the last day, Lagos United will play against Utrecht in match while Liberty FC will face Supersportin the final match.

In the same vein, the Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of the tournament, Tayo Balogun has stated that all journalists wishing to cover the tournament should come for accreditation at the Conference Room of the Local Organising Committee Secretariat at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

The exercise will commence on Monday August 26th and end on Wednesday August 25th 2010.

Balogun also said that, interested journalists should appear with two passport sized photographs, official identity cards and a letter of introduction from their Editor/Heads of desks.

He enjoined all journalists to take full advantage of the days set aside for the media accreditation as non-accreditation of any journalist will engender limited access during the tournament.
