The Nigeria Basketball Federation at the weekend release its final list of twelve basketball players that will represent Nigeria at the 11th FIBA Africa Championship for U18 Women billed for Cairo, Egypt from this Thursday through August 6.
Team Head Coach Adewumi Aderemi says he is confident the players would not disappoint the nation, "I am confident the players will give a good account of themselves in Egypt.
The twelve players were selected after a careful selection from a pool of players invited to camp in Kaduna.
The twelve players include Ijeoma Frank Uchendu, Temitope Oladele, Atosu Upe, Oluwakorede Yetunde Sosanya, Juliet Osaume Igiebor, Sharon Rukeme Ogharanduku, Blessing Amos, Uju Nkiru Ugoka, Emmanuela Chukwuedo, Elo Edema Edeferioka, Kewwe Blessing Imomoh and Evawere Happiness Atunuwa.
Coach Aderemi who is the head coach of FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women, First Bank basketball club of Lagos will be assisted by Coach Peter Ahmedu of ASPAC basketball club of Cotonuo, Republic of Benin.
Nigeria is drawn in Group-B alongside defending champion, Mali. Other countries in the group considered to be the toughest of the two groups are, Mozambique, Cote d'Ivoire and Democratic Republic of Congo while Group-A is made up of host Egypt, Tunisia, Senegal, Angola and Kenya.
