The National Sports Commission, NSC, has inaugurated a re-constituted anti-corruption and transparency unit of the commission.
This move according to the Commission is to check the scourge of corruption which has assumed an alarming proportion in the Public Service.
The Commission's Director General, Patrick Ekeji, who made thisstatement at a Media parley in Abuja, said the unit was first established in 2003 in line with a directive that all ministries, parastatals and agencies of government should set up anti-corruption monitoring units.
Ekeji, said the erstwhile unit had its entire membership depleted due to retirement and re-deployment of staff from the Commission.
While urging the management to support the members of the unit, The Director General, encouraged them to discharge their duties without undue interference.
The six-man committee has Mohammad Abdul-Sule as the chairman while John Amangele is the secretary.
Other members are, Rabi Ali Galadima, Ahmadu Gambo, Hauwa Kulu Akinyemi and Olojo.
