The first Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Obinna Ogba , has explained the reason for the invitation of some foreign –based players into the Super Eagles’ camp for the international friendly with Korea Republic on August 11.
The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday released a list of 35 players of which 13 of them playing professionally abroad, to camp for the much –publicised international friendly with the South Koreans in Seoul.
Ogba, said te football players were invited based on the request of the Koreans to include some of the players that featured at the last FIFA World held in South Africa.
He said the Federation only called some of the football players that went to the South Africa 2010 World Cup and they expect that the home –based football players would give them good fight for shirts ahead of the friendly match in Seoul, adding that the Federation knows the feeling the of teeming Nigeria soccer fans.
The Nigeria's professional invited to camp are John Mikel Obi, Ikechukwu Uche and Joseph Akpala,Vincent Enyeama, Ayodele Adeleye, Elderson Echiejile and Danny Shittu.
Others are Haruna Lukman, Kalu Uche and Dickson Etuhu, Osaze Odemwingie, Obinna Nsofor and Obafemi Martins.
The NFF has called 22 locally –based players to camp, who are expected to arrive in the Federal Capital, Abuja today and stay at the Summit Hotel, Kado.
Both teams played to a 2-2 draw in their clash inside the Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban on June 22 at the World Cup finals.
