
Former Green Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, has attributed lack of virile youth football programmes as the bane of football development in NIgeria.
The stationery Stores goalkeeper, who admitted that football talents are abound in Nigeria, said the authourities saddled with the responsibility to develop football only focus on competing in various competitions without designing a programme to improve the standard of Nigerian football.
Rufai, said his vast experience in football shows that the future of Nigerian football is he grassroot and there is need to invest heavily in it in a bid to keep with he current trend in global football.
He said the Nigeria Football Association must have a guranteed youth football programmes where genuine and seasoned sports administrators would be giving a chance to add value to Nigerian football.
