Falcons in Windhoek, Flying Eagles, Dream Team depart

Written By sportsweight.blogspot.com on Thursday, April 14, 2011 | 12:11 AM

The Nigeria's Super Falcons will today depart the country for second leg of their 2012 Olympic Games qualifier against the Brave Gladiators of Namibia on Saturday.

The Falcons take a healthy 7- nil lead into the return leg and have no reason to countenance a catastrophe at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday.

Head Coach, Eucharia Uche led her team out on a South African Airways flight to Johannesburg, and delegation would connect Windhoek Thursday morning.

Similarly, the Flying Eagles would travel from Port Harcourt on Thursday afternoon to Lagos, from where the delegation would connect an Arik Air flight for Johannesburg.

The team will participate in the 17th African Youth Championship starting in South Africa on Sunday.

In the same vein, Nigeria's Olympic team which has been drawn to play Tanzania in the second round of the 2012 Olympics qualifying series will also depart the country today to Monrovia for the opening leg of a 2011 All-African Games qualifying fixture against Liberia.

That match takes place on Saturday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
