Union Bank basketball club of Lagos Sunday stepped up its bid to finish as one of the two top teams from the Atlantic conference of the DStv Premier Basketball League walloped Chariots basketball club by 89-42 points in a local derby at the sports hall of the national stadium, Lagos.

Police Baton basketball club posted a surprised results also on Sunday when it edged final-8 favorite in the dying seconds of the week-11 pairing to win by 55-54 points.
The Coach Mark Balogun tutored Baton gave up the first two quarters by 13-18 and 11-14 points to go into the break with an 8-point deficit of 24-32 points before rising to the challenge in the third quarter taking the former champion apart with a 17-08 points win to take the crucial one point lead going into the last quarter which ended by 14 points apiece.
Police now hold a 4-6 record to move up the Atlantic conference ladder from sixth to fifth position while Comets who has sealed a playoff slot now has 8-4 record to remain in the second spot behind Royal Hoopers basketball club of Port Harcourt (10-2 record).
