
Embattled Super Eagles striker,Yakubu Aiyegbeni, has appealed to teeming Nigerian soccer fans to forgive him of his misfortune at the last FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Aiyegbeni, who was among the star studded football players that honoured Kanu Nwankwo Testimonial match on Saturday at the Teslim BalogunStadium, was being booed by soccer fans for any move he made.
The former Julius Berger striker, said it was not a delibrate act to miss a vital goal at the World Cup, stressing that it was almost a year the incident occured yet Nigerian are still hunting him over the glaring scoring chance he lost.
The froner Everton striker, who was devastated over the fans attitude towards him, said he was aware that many Nigerian were not happy with the Super Eagles performance at the World Cup espeacially his lackaidasical attitude to goal he missed.
The Leicester City striker, said he would not be disturbed by the action of the aggrieved soccer fans but he would continue to work hard as he is planning to return to Everton F.C when the English Premier League resume.
