Oshodi Plans To Partner Private Bodies

Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development,has declared its readiness to partner with the private in a view ti drive sports development in the state to loftier height.

The State's Commissioner for Sports, Wahid Enitan Oshodi,said the state's Government was ready to collaborate with Super Sports Television on its “Let’s Play” Program which is targeted towards getting the kids off the streets into productive ventures in the area of sports.

Oshodi, who stated this when the Super Sports Team paid him a courtesy call in his office, said the state sports development policy and implementation was similar to what “Let’s Play” Programme is expected to achieve.

Supersport CSI and Enterprises, Vaughn Bishop, Manager, said the goal of “Let’s Play Nigeria” which is expected to domicile in Lagos is to discover, nurture and promote young stars in schools and on the streets.

Bishop, added that the programme aims at keeping the kids in schools and off the streets while being involved in sporting activities, adding that the move is similar to the Lagos State Policy of promoting sports using the vehicle of education.

In similar vein, the state Commissioner for Sports,Wahid Enitan Oshodi, has appreciated the continued sponsorship of the Principals’ Cup by GT Bank over the years.

The commissioner made this statement when a team from Guaranty Trust Bank comprising Lola Odedina, General Manager Communications and External Affairs; Daodu; Fela Bank-Olemoh, CEO Media Vision and Jimmy Sogbesan of Media Vision paid a courtesy call on the Commissioner.

He hopes the Principals’ Cup Competition which was a yearly event would be bigger and better in the next edition.

While speaking, GTB General Manager Communications and External Affairs,Odedina, promised continued sponsorship of the competition,stressing that there would be an increased cooperation between the Bank and the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development.

She complimented the Honourable Commissioner in the area of sports development in the past especially in Table Tennis while wishing him a successful tenure in office.

She promised that GT Bank would continue to collaborate with and support sporting activities in the State.
