DFA's Chairmen Vow To Regenerate Grassroot Football.

The newly elected chairmen of the Divisional Football Association have vowed to concentrate on grassroot football development programme to improve the quality of football in the state.

The re- elected chairman of Badagry Divisional Football Association, Senior Apostle Solomon Akin Aina, said the Association would not relent in its efforts in ensuring that the standard of grassroot football in Badagry and its environs was well developed,stressing that plans are in top gear to organise a stakeholders forum to fashion out ways to add value to uplift the standard of football.

Akin Aina, who was the former Chairman of Ojo Local Government, said the Association would repackaged and introduce BDFA league as well as series of grassroot football competitions to comfort with the standard Seyi Akinwunmi, the boss of Lagos State Football Association, is propagating.

The BDFA Boss, appealed to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola to help the Association by building a stadium in Badagry where they would avenue to organise and accomodate top graded football competitions, adding that the association had been making use of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Lagos State University and some Primary schools playgrounds.

Its counterparts from Ikorodu Divisional Football Association, Alhaji Mohammed Ogidi, said he would emulate the good work of outgone chairman of Lagos Divisional Footbal Association, Doyun Coker, by introducing an annual football competition of repute which would be geareg at discovering young talented who would be the pride of State,National and Premier clubsides.

Ogidi, who claimed that IDFA has abundant football players, explained that the association under his regime would design a programme that would engage the youth as the gesture would help to keep them out of the street, thus reducing the rate of crime in Ikorodu and its environs.

He promised to introduce all secondary schools football competition because the fundamental of football development rest on the youth who need to be discovered and nurtured to stardom at their tender age.

Chairman of Lagos Divisional Football Association,Ifalade Oyekan,who is the Human Resources Manager of Lagos Channel Management, vowed to surpass the achievements of the outgone chairman of LDFA, Dotun Coker, who according to him has done pretty well to the growth of football in the zone with the annual BOSKA/LDFA Soccer tournament.

Oyekan, who is lawyer by profession, said he had contacted prominent Lagosians who had promised to support the association to stage series of football competitions as well as other events a that are crucial to football develoopment.

He promised to engage the service of corporate bodies to support his quest of regenerating football in line with the vision of the Lagos State Football Association,LSFA.
