Ekiti Tennis Tourney Gets Momentum

All arrangements towards the successful hosting of the forthcoming National Junior Tennis Championship/Clinic billed for Ado-Ekiti Tennis Courts, Trade Fair Complex between August 14th and 28th, 2011 is at advance stage.

The junior tennis event being packaged by Ekiti State Tennis Association in conjunction with the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) is to attract all the 36 states including Federal Capital Territory will feature Under 14 and Under 16 in both boys and girls category respectively.

According to the 1st Vice President of NTF, Yemi Owoseni, adequate preparation has been made by the organizer to make the championship a huge success.

He added that there would be tennis clinic for children between ages of four to twelve years in which notable tennis coaches led by Babatunde Abe, Rotimi Akinloye and Ubale Mohammed and veteran coach Thompson Onibokun among others would tutor the young tennis players on the rudiments of the sport.

The State Governor, Kayode Fayemi, is expected to declare the event open as Chief Molade Okoya, Chief Segun Odegbami, and Thompson Onibokun are among the dignitaries to honour the event.
