Poor Defensive Tactics Kill Flying Eagles, Says Waheed Akanni.

Former Flying Eagles midfielder, Waheed Akanni, has attributted the ouster of Nigeria's Flying Eagles in the ongoing FIFA Under 20 Wolrd Cup in Colombia to poor defensive tactics.

The former chairman of the Lagos State Football Association,said the cheap goals conceeded against France was due to the defenders inability to curtail the offensive approach of the France squad that scaled through the Quarter final hurdle.

He advised the Nigeria Football Federation not to sack John Obuh but retain him as the team's coach having won the African Youth Championship and leading the team to the quarter final, adding that he was able to assembly young talented football players whose future in football is very bright.

He urged the NFF to start early preparation for the next edition ofthe FIFA Under 20 Wolrd Cup by organising series of age grade football tournament with a view of discovering players who would be groomed to represent the nation at the soccer fiesta,stressing that the exposure of the team to series of organised internatioal tournaments paved the way for the team's performance at the soccer fiesta.
