The rebuilding process in the national team continued all through the Christmas period in Abuja, the Federal capital, with players sweating it out in rigorous training sessions conducted by Head Coach Steve Keshi, except on Xmas day.
To consolidate on the players fitness and match readiness, officials of the team have scheduled two friendly games for Tuesday and Wednesday in the Federal Capital. The first game on Tuesday, will be against Amateur League side, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMACO).
The second will be against a more formidable opponents in Pro-league Division One A side and former Premier League campaigners, Ranchers Bees of Kaduna.
Head Coach Steve Keshi, said the games will afford him a second look at the players and their readiness for the task ahead. “We must get some of these boys into the main team and its through games like the ones ahead and the one we have played before that we can discover the ones that are ready to give Nigerians joy in the new order”.
Team Coordinator, Emmanuel Atta, revealed that more of such games will be played, even as he reiterated that there will be an international friendly for the boys by January 7.
