Head Coach of First Bank Basketball Club, Adewunmi Aderemi, has attributed the team's late preparations for the 17th African Club Champions for Women as the factor responsible for the team's failure to win the tournament.
Aderemi, whose team lost to Interclube Basketball Club of Angola, said the inability of the organisers to certain about the date of the continental basketball fiesta also affected their preparations as he advised FIBA Africa to consider the participatings teams while planning for the event.
The coach, said two of his strong basketball players, Abideli Nwamaka and Ellong Vera were not paraded in the match and that inability of hie players to score points also pave the way for the Angolans to win, stressing that the Interclube Basketball of Angola were a better team than them in the area of defense and offense.
He said the team's technical crew had to drop their off zone approach to the games because the Angolans deprieved his players of taking effective use of the tactics, adding that the Angolans were making use of twelve man rotation as against his team that made use of ten man rotaion.
The coach who stressed that Nigerian female basketball league was far better than their counterpart from Angola, assured that the team would far better in 2012 edition of the tourney.
