It has been plaudits all the way for the national team after their heroic display against the Lone Star of Liberia right in front of President of Liberian Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf last Wednesday, and one man who was impressed by the performance is Hon. Francis Dunia.
Dunia, who watched the game live in Monrovia , said he was pleased with the boldness that the national team put up in the encounter, despite all moves to deter the team from achieving its goal. “I am totally impressed by the boys display, especially when the officiating officials try to draw them back, they were still pushing and focused and at the end of the day the host were the ones begging that goals should stop entering their own net”, he said.
The former member of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, said he has already made his impression known to the technical crew. “I have said we don’t need these foreign professionals pushing us all over the place when we need them, they should be invited to compliment what we have here at home and the talents here are abundant.”
Similarly, former NFA board member, Ben Agari, says he was impressed by the performance of the home-based national team in Monrovia and canvassed for the sustenance of the programme that threw up the players used.
“If I have my way only home-based players will be used against Rwanda , but I believe the coaching crew knows best and that is why I think the NFF must encourage Keshi and his team to rebuild the national team”.
