23 young golfers met the qualifying criteria to represent Nigeria at the U.S Kids European Golf Championships which is due to take place June 5 - 8 2012.
The young Tigers of tomorrow participated in the recently concluded 1st Kids Golf International All African Junior Golf Championships which took place at the IBB Golf & Country Club.
The event saw 53 players tee off within their respective age groups to battle for qualifying spots for the European Event.
In the girls category were Aizor Okaisabor, Jamine Ogboru, Georgia Oboh, Omene
Addeh, Judity Nyoon, Hauwa Abubarkar, Tawa Ademola and Aidevo Okaisabor.
In the boys category there were Paul Odoh Jnr, son of Late Pro Golfer Paul Odoh, John Odoh, Peter Idoko, Jordan Thompson, Zingak Wadak, Peters Keys Lot, Gampal Shagaya, Edward Iloghalu, Munemagadi Iloghalu, Aminu Abubakar, Zunu Abubakar, Neo Mokgatle, El Nabil Abubakar and Samuel Machang.
In his closing remark at the games dinner, the President and Founder of Kids Golf International, Prince Kenny Thompson expressed profound appreciation to the host IBB Golf Country club and promised to return to the same venue next year for the 2nd edition of the games.
He appealed to Nigeria parents to make effort to quickly identify talents in their children and do all that it takes to Nurture such talents. He retirated that it is very important to compliment talent development with good education and not vice versa.
