April has been a busy month for sports in Lagos State as various associations are holding their quarterly Inter-Clubs Championships.
It will be the turn of Wushu Kungfu Association on Thursday and Friday this week as more than 300 athletes from various clubs storm Mobolaji Bank Anthony Sports Complex, Rowe Park, Yaba for the madien Eko Wushu Kungfu Talent Hunt Open Championship.
Chairman of the association,Lemmy Olusesan Akerele said that the tourney was organised to discover talents for the state, adding that the target of the association is to build a formidable Team Lagos in Wushu Kungfu.
"We are grateful to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Commissioner for Sports, Mr. Enitan Oshodi for this laudable quarterly Inter-Clubs Championship. It is an open tourney where individual can present athletes and clubs come together to compete in a favourable enivironment," said Akerele.
The Inter-Clubs Championship is facilitated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Fashola with active collaboration with Ministry of Sports and Social Development and the Sports Council.
