Foreign Pros To Link Up With 17 Eagles In Lima

Written By sportsweight.blogspot.com on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 | 11:48 PM

There are strong indications that the five foreign based players named by Super Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, will link up with the squad  in Lima, the Peruvian capital.

The players are Nnamdi Oduamadi, Gege Soriola, Obiorah Nwankwo, Raheem Lawal and Ekhigo Ehiosun.

According to the Super Eagles spokesman, Ben Alaiya, Keshi, has given players liberty to play for the respective clubs since some of them are in play-off games or relegation games to play and they would not finish the games until the middle of the month.

“Some of them are in play-off games, some have difficult promotion or relegation games to play and they won’t finish the games until the middle of the month, so we have to respect them and the clubs that pay their bills”.

He said Ehiosun of Samsunsport, may make it to Abuja, but team officials are not banking on that and have asked all the players to report straight to Lima for the May 23 friendly.

He said the team's technical crew will pick 17  out of 26 home based Eagles  to join the 5 foreign based players that have been picked for the friendly.

NFF officials have already firmed up the travel plans of the team, scheduled to depart the country on May 19.
