Festac Warriors Wins Oba Isaac Olayemi Soccer Cup.

Festac Warriors has emerged the winner of the maiden edition of the Oba Isaac Owolabi Olayemi Under 17 Football tournament which came to a close on Friday at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere.

The Warriors which paraded football jogglers displayed good football artisrty to admiration of teeming soccer fans as the team defeated Piro Football Club two - nil in a competition organised by the Lagos Island Youth Sports Association.

Festac Striker, Happy Opoka, scored the fisrt goal in th early minute of the game as Azeez Mohammed who  took contorl of the midfield made it two - nil when he took a solo effort.

At the resumption of second half, Piro F.C fought hard to redeem its image but it was too late as the Festac Warrior F.C denied them the opportunity to score a goal.

The sponsor, Oba Isaac Owolabi Olayemi, the Alamuwo of Amuwo Kuje Land, who was elated over the display of soccer artistry, said sponsoring the gropgramme had been his dream to see young talented children grow to become Nigeria's future football stars, adding that Nigeria's great football stars such as Kanu Nwankwo, Rashid Yekini, Victor Agali, Osaze Odewingie among others were discovered through grassroot football competitions.

Oba Olayemi, who promised to make it an annual football competitions, commended Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, for his determination towards regenerating the standard of sports in the state.
