900 Teams For Season Five of MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship.

For the first time in five years, the season five of the MTN Lagos Street Soccer championship is recording a large turnout with over 900 teams confirmed for this year’s tournament.

According to the list made available by the Local Organising Committee during the opening ceremony held yesterday in Campos Stadium, the male teams dominated the competition as Surulere Local Council registered the highest number of teams with 59 teams representing the council.

840 male teams will compete in the male event, while 62 will be jostling for honours in the female category.

Aside the teams that emerge from the local councils and Local Council Development Areas , religious bodies like Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), and NASFAT also registered, while groups like the Man O’ War, Girls Guide, schools, football academies and Indian community as well as individuals also presented teams for this year’s championship.
