Falconets coach, Edwin OKon, has dropped five football players for not measuring up to standard ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
The players are Rosemary Okoro, Juliana Osuji Grace Eyebhoria, Ayeniberun Opeyemi and Elibor Charity as they have returned to their various clubs.
Okon, said the team's technical crew were not in camp for frivolities but for serious business where only the outstanding football players would make it to the World Cup final, adding that the team focus is to get the best that would make the nation proud.
To this end, 32 players will continue to battle for shirts at the team’s Abuja camp as the team has spent 10 days since resuming to camp on the first of July for the last phase of training.
Nigeria’s Falconets have been drawn against Italy, Korea Republic and Brazil in Group B of the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup which kicks off on August 18 to September 8 in Japan.
