Eagles Begin Training In Niamey

The Super Eagles of Nigeria, has resumed resumed training on Monday in Niamey for the encounter against Mena of Niger on Wednesday.
The team, has since checked into the Hotel Gaweye in the centre of the city and were billed for its first training session, later by Monday evening at about 3:30pm Nigerian and Niger time since both countries share the same time zone.
The timing of the training is targeted at the same time the game will be played on Sunday.
Eagles arrived Niamey; the Nigerien capital on Sunday night via Asky Airline, after about one hour, five minutes flight from Abuja.
The team which is training at the Stade Omnisport in Niamey would tomorrow relocate its training to the venue of the match, Stade Gen Said Kountche in the Niger capital named after a former Niger Head of State.
The stadium seats up to 40,000 fans according Niger Football Federation officials who are also using the game to prepare for its crunch Nations Cup duel against Guinea Conakry September 8.
It was also gathered that the Mena will be parading up to five foreign based professionals who were expected today from their various clubsides in France for the encounter, as the team hopes to use its full arsenal against the Eagles made up of entirely local based stars.
Eagles boss, Stephen Keshi has said despite the friendly nature of the encounter, he expects his wards to acquit themselves well on Wednesday.
