Head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has debunked the rumour making rounds that the team will be ging on break as he praised the home based football players for their first international experience against Menas of Niger.
Despite not wining the match due to waste of scoring chances, Keshi, said the team performed beyond expectations and that the inclussion of some new football players against Niger showed that there are credible football players in the Nigerian Premier League, stressing that he would not relent in his efforts to pave the way for other Nigerian Premier League players to represent Nigeria in subsequent matches.
The Super Eagles will tomorrow return to Abuja aboard an Asky airline, after a goalless draw against Niger Republic national side on Wednesday in Niamey.
Among the players who had their first cap for the national team are Sunshine Stars Kwambe Solomon, Benjamin Francis of Heartland of Owerri, Solomon Jabason of Akwa United, Niger Tornadoes Sibi Gwar, Sani Sanusi of Gombe United, Umar Zango of Kano Pillars and midfield showman, Philip Asuquo of Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
"That is why I wonder when some people say the Nigerian league lacks talents, there are lot of them hidden there waiting to be discovered but I must congratulate those who have so far proved themselves against a tough side like Niger”, he said.Shooting Stars of Ibadan.
