The Local Organising Committee, L.O.C, has disqualified Freeman, Hamzat, Okajue Babes and Molete Streets for fielding national league football players.
The teams were booted out by the committee following the protests from Patey, Swamp, Awolowo Way and Aiyeteju Streets.
Similarly four teams were fined for fielding ineligible players during the round two of the season five of MTN Lagos Street Soccer.
The arbitration panel of the LOC chaired by former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Austin Akosa, yesterday booted out the teams for going against the rules guiding the competition.
With all the protests hinging on the use of ineligible players with Hamzat found guilty of using professional players which was against the Article 14, which stated that professional league players are not expected to feature in the competition.
Hamzat fielded the duo of Friday Onouju and Obinor Chinedu who are at present playing for national league side, COD United. Also, Molete was found guilty of fielding unregistered players while Okajue Babes’ Christian Ijeh was found guilty of playing for two teams in the competition while Freeman was also guilty of using unqualified players as well.
For this act, the LOC through the Akosa-led panel disqualified the teams, while Oyerokun team was fined for listing a red-carded player in their team during the round of two matches.
However, some protests were thrown for lack of evidence, while the LOC believes this would serve as a deterrent to teams as the competition progresses to the third round this weekend.
