Lagos Inter Tertiary Games:Laspotech Wins Table Tennis Event

Team Lagos State Polytechnics, Laspotech, has emerged the overall winner in the just concluded table tennis of the ongoing 4th Lagos Inter Tertiary Games.
The institution tops the medals table with 1 Gold 1 silver and 1 bronze medals to win the ping pong game, followed by Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech with 1 gold and 2 bronze medals.
Federal College of Marine Technology, Victoria Island were third with 1 silver and Lagos State University,LASU, came fourth with 1 bronze medal.
The tournament, which is facilitated by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Grassroots Sports Development to Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, is organised by relevant sporting associations in Lagos State. Lagos State Polytechnics won 1 gold.
Adeyinka Ahmed of Yaba College of technology and Aminat Fashola of Lagos State Polytechnic have emerge winners of the table tennis event in the Men's and Women's category singles in the ongoing Lagos State Inter Tertiary Games.
Ahmed whose feat made it third time running of winning the Men's singles event defeated Badgo Bambo of Federal College of Fisheries and marine Technology by four sets to nil,11-9,11-5,11-4,11-7,to grab the sum of one hundred thousand naira.
Badgo Bambo settled for sixty thousand naira as the runner up while the duo of Mojeed Olayiwola of Yaba College of Technology and Gbenga Ajulo of Lagos State Polytechnic got forty thousand naira each.
A total of ten institutions of twenty ping pongers played in the qualifying round robin of which the best eight qualified for the quarter-final.
Aminat Fashola of Lagos State Polytechnic defeated her compatriot Funke Hassan by four straight set of 12-10,11-7,11-9,11-8,to smile home with one hundred thousand naira Sulaiman Bisi of Lagos State University and Monifat Idris of Yaba College of Technology got fourty thousand naira each.
