Oshodi, Urges Tertiary Institutions To Particpate In Inter- Tertiary Games.

Lagos State Commissioner for Sports,Wahid Enitan Oshodi has commended the senior special adviser to the Governor on grassroot Sports,Prince Wale Oladunjoye,for staging a quality Competition devoid of rancor.
Osohdi,while speaking with sportsweight.blogspot.com,said the organisers of the Lagos Inter-Tertiary Games would extend invitation to some tertiary institutions in the South western Nigeria in a bid to widen the scope of the annual competition.
While encouraging tertiary institutions in the state to compete in 2013 edition,the sports commissioner said a lot of the athletes competing in this year's edition would be representing Lagos State at the EKO 2012 Games,adding that the Lagos State Government had contract a world record holder,Lee Evans,to train discovered athletes to excel at the Games.
He said the need to require the services of Evans was imperative since their Coaches does not the exposure to modern training techniques adding that the Nigerians Coaches are well endowed in their area of specialization but they need necessary equipment to work with couple with regular refresher courses.
Meanwhile plans are in top gear to construct community sports Complex across Lagos State as a way of improving and adding values to the standard of sports.
The commissioner for education,Olayinka Oladunjoye, who made this statement while speaking with Sportsweight.blogspot said her ministry and the ministry of Youth,Sports and social development were working in harmony in ensuring that each community have an access to a quality Sport complex which would be provided with standard Sports equipment.
According to her,the sports complex would be built in each community based on their strength in a particular as the gesture would enable the Lagos State sports council to have a pool of athletes who could turn out to become international stars under a through training programme.
She said the just concluded Lagos inter Tertiary Games had shown that talents are abound at the tertiary institutions and the ministry responsible for sports development and the office of senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Grassroot Sports would ensure that atheletes discovered are nurtured to stardom.
