Ayeni:Renovation Works At Oshodi Sports Complx Affect L.B Ayeni Cup.

The House Committee Chairman on Youth, Sports and Social Development,  Honourable Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, has explained the reason why the ninth edition of L.B.Ayeni Golden Soccer Cup was delayed.

Ayeni, while speaking with Sportsweight.blogspot.com, said the renovation works at the Oshodi sports complex and his role at the last concluded African cup of Nations in South Africa was responsible for the delay of the annual soccer competition.

While appealing to the  registered grassroot clubs for the inconviences the delay might  have caused the clubs, the legislators, said all the twenty clubs that had registered and participated in the tournament's draws would be muted for a meeting slated for next Wednesday at the conference room of Lagos State House  of Assembly.

He said the meeting which would involve the coach and teams managers would  focus on where and when the competition which has produced talented players would kick-off adding that the tournament would run for two weeks.
