The plans for the unveiling ceremony
of 40 beneficiaries of the Adopt-A-Talent Sports Program, the first of
its kind in the annals of Nigerian sports, enters the next phase with
the release of profiles of the adopted athletes to the public.
Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola will officially unveil the athletes to the Nigerian publics on Thursday, 30 May in Alausa, Ikeja.
Apart from the
profiles of the athletes, which can be accessed on
www.lasgadoptatalentsports.com,
the Management Committee, headed by Prince ‘Wale Oladunjoye (Snr.), has
also sent letters for the unveiling ceremony to the adoptees, sponsors,
parents and other stakeholders that have shown interest over the years
in the development of youths through sports.
The Committee said that the profile of each adoptee alongside the template used by the coaches on this programme is also ready for presentation at the ceremony.
“It is instructive to know that this is the first time such template has been prepared and made available to the discerning public.
“The Management Committee headed by Prince Wale Oladunjoye (Snr) is hereby using this opportunity to appeal to public-spirited individuals, sports philanthropists as well as corporate organisations to come on board because there are still 130 budding talents on our waiting list for adoption.
“Corporate bodies should please consider this programme as their Corporate Social Responsibility input into the 10 sports disciplines (Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Gymnastics, Karate, Judo, Swimming, Volleyball, Football, and Table Tennis) currently in the programme,” the Committee said in a statement made available to the press
