Oladunjoye:The Athletes Had Already Restored The State's Pride In Their Chosen Sports.

The Lagos State Government has unveiled fifty seven athletes of the state's Adopt-A-Talent sports programme out of one hundred and seventy athletes in the programme.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Grassroot Sports Development, Prince Wale Oladunjoye, said the programme initiated by Governor Babatunde Fashola, in 2010, with six sports namely, Athletics, Table Tennis, Boxing, Basketball, Football and Volleyball was design to discover and create a pool of budding talents below the age of eighteen years in various sports discipline.
Oladunjoye, who noted that the programme would expose the athletes to a scientifically structured all year round training exercise powered by sponsors, corporate bodies, said Adopt-A-Talent sports programme an opportunity to guage charachter, monitor their education, build the right spirit of sportmanshipand prepare them for leadership roles.
The Senior Special Assistant who was humbled over the success recorded by the athletes who are secondary school pupils, said all the six medals, three gold, two silver, one bronze medals won by the state's Athletics Association at the last National Sports Festival tagged Eko 2012 Games were made possible by the Adopt-A-Talent.
He said the athletes had already restored the state's pride in their chosen sports and their prospect of barrier breaking performances in the future are bright.
"We and I mean these young boys and girls, have begun the journey of a thousand miles, we have started writing our own story."My prayer is that the trail which these youngsters are blazing will never get cold.
