Afrobasket For Women: Nigeria - Mali 50-57

Nigeria's D'Tigress failed to clinch the fifth position in the classification game against Mali in the Afrobasket for women.

Mali earned the fifth overall position at the 2013 AfroBasket after they overcame Nigeria's D'Tigress in the final game at the tournament.

Meiya Tirera of Mali scored 26 points to lead the charge as Nigeria eked out a 10:9 lead ten minutes into the game.

They boosted the gap at 6-point mark at the interval 29:23 while Mali narrowed the deficit and eventually jumped in front in the third term.

They went on a 21:10 run to secure a 43:36 lead at the final break.

The teams traded baskets throughout the fourth quarter. Mali stayed in control and raced to the victory at the end.

Naignouma Coulibaly produced 14 points, while Kankou Coulibaly added 9 points for the winners.

Joyce Ekworomadu produced 10 points for Nigeria. Atosu Upe had 9 points in the loss.
