Lagos Deputy Governor for MTN Lagos Street Soccer finals

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire will be the special guest of honour at the finals of the season six of MTN Lagos Street Soccer Championship holding on Sunday October 13 at the Campos Mini Stadium.
The top eight teams in the male, female and U-15 categories will slug it out for the mouthwatering cash reward as well as foreign trips.
The Deputy Governor who chaired the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the most successful National Sports Festival tagged Eko 2012 will be hosted by the state Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Wahid Oshodi while top officials of MTN Nigeria Plc will also grace the grand finale.
Among the teams that had already sealed their place in the finale are 2011 champion, Apapa’s Lawal Akapo, Koilo Two, ABS of Mosan Okunola, Agege Street of Ikoyi Obalende , Pike Street of Lagos Island East as well as Bisi Yusuf team owned by member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Bisi Yusuf.
In the U-15 junior category, school team like Mainland Senior of Yaba will compete alongside Yaba Starlet, Ojoku Street and Damilola Taylor teams in the last eight.
According to the Secretary Genera, Local Organising Committee (LOC), Deji Aladegbemi, the finale promises to be exciting with the best among the eight teams getting the cash prize alongside the foreign trips.
“We are happy that all the participating teams have really conducted themselves throughout the tournament and we are looking forward to an explosive final come Sunday,” he said.
For this season, LOC says more than 600 teams registered for the male event while over 300 teams featured in the U-15 junior category.
