Four Teams To Feature In Eko Beach Soccer Festival.

Four teams will participate in the one - day Eko Beach soccer festival fixed for Sunday, thirtieth of this month at the Elegusi Beach.

The teams are, Pepsi Academy, Bridge Boys, Lagos Island and the  defending champion of Eko Beach league, Owibeseb.

Chairman Lagos State Football Association, LSFA, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, said the competition which would be played on league format is a prelude to this year's edition of Eko Beach soccer league which would attract eight beach soccer teams.

Akinwunmi, the first Vice - President of Nigeria Football Federation, who thanked the management of Airtel Nigeria for supporting the association's programmes in the next three years, said the LSFA through the Beach soccer committee would build and consolidate on the standard of beach soccer in Nigeria.

The LSFA boss, while commending Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for paving way for the successes LSFA had recorded during his tenure, said the association was ready to excel in Beach soccer, hence the reason why the LSFA is calling on the private sector to partner with LSFA to build a virile football structure in the state.

Chairman, Eko Beach soccer festival, Tade Azeez, said the competition had encouraged regular football clubs in the state to delve into Beach soccer as the more has enable the countryy to present a formidable squad at the Lagos Copa Beach soccer tournament.

According to him, three matches will be played at the Lagos Beach soccer stadium while the remaining league matches will be played at the Elegushi Beach, adding that the committee had suspended two teams from the list of eight clubs to feature in the Eko Beach soccer league following their failure to comply with the tournament rules and regulations.
