Super Eagles and Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, says the inability of converting their scoring chances in the first half of the African Cup of Nations, Afcon, qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa was responsible for their ouster from the African soccer fiesta.
The Lazio midfielder, who was sad for not being able to secure a ticket for the 2015 Afcon in Equatorial Guinea, said the South African side sealed the aspirations of the Eagles after taking advantage of their two scoring chance which further paved the way for them to top their group with eleven points.
Onazi, who could not speak for other players as regard their fitness level said the South Africans were very mobile and articulated in their passes which led to their two goals while some of the Super Eagles players were not creating space for easy flow of passes.
He advised the new board of Nigeria Football Federation under the control of Amaju Pinnick to embark on a genuine campaign to re- structure the Super Eagles by recruiting good football jogglers and also engage them in many international competitions, stressing that he enjoyed playing for the Eagles under Stephen Keshi whom he regarded as a father.
On his next move, Onazi, said he would now focus on his club's assignments until the NFF invite him for any assignment.
We Are Sad, Says Onazi
