Super Falcons’ defender, Osinachi Ohale, has said she is happy and excited as she helped her team pick the All Africa Games (AAG) ticket.
Ohale, who was part of the team that did not qualify for the AAG and Olympics four years ago, said she still remembers the pain the team felt when they could not qualify for both tournaments and assured that the Olympics ticket will also be picked.
"I feel really excited because we have picked the ticket to AAG, and so I am grateful. In 2011, I was among the players who went to Ghana and Cameroon and could not pick the ticket for AAG and Olympics, respectively. I am grateful we have picked the AAG ticket and I believe that we will make it right this time around as regards the Olympics because no team will stop us from achieving that."
The former Houston Dash player, who now acts as the team captain on the departure of Captain Evelyn Nwabuoku to BIIK FC, said she is under no pressure as team captain as the girls are disciplined and have remained focus to the task ahead.
"It feels good to be the acting captain in Super Falcons where we have the likes of Precious Dede, Perpertua Nkwocha and other senior players, so it's a big honour for me to play this role. The whole team prayed for our captain before she departed for her new club. The girls are very cooperative and we are doing our best to make sure we remain focused and maintain our discipline," she concluded.
