Boska/LDFA Soccer Cup Attract 128 Football Clubs.

The Lagos Divisional Football Association, LDFA, has declared its readiness to stage the fourth edition of Boska\LDFA Soccer tournament billed for seventh of next month at the National Stadium, Astro Turf.

Its Chairman, Dotun Coker, made this know while speaking with sports journalists on the Association's annual grassroot football tournament.

Coker, while commending Dexa Medica, the producer of Boska, for its unflinching support towards improving grassroot football in Lagos State, said the tournament had produced great young football players who had made the country proud in international competitions.

He mentioned that the duo Edafe Egbedi and Ramon Azeez who played for Nigeria at the alst FIFA under 17 World Cup were products of the tournament , stressing that Dejo Olateru
who is now in Canada for trials and Yusuf Otubanjo who now plays for Gateway F.C of Abeokuta were discovered during the competition.

He said the Association has concluded plans to organise a day seminar for all the registered football clubs as seasoned football referee, Gabriel Adikwe would tutor the teams on
what is expected of player while on the field of play as Bukola Oduroye would present a paper on medical .

The Sales and Marketing Manager of Dexa Medica, Hendri Rusman, said plans have been concluded to stage the maiden edition of the tournament billed for Kano State while football players in Onitsha, Anambra State would also have a feeling of the Boska Soccer Cup.

Hendri, said the idea of extending the competition to other states was to add value to grassroot football in Nigeria and also to help the Nigeria Football Federation to discover hidden talents since Nigeria is blessed with abundant football players.

He said lack of regular football competitions was one of the factors that affected the growth of football in Nigeria, thus the they are ready to create a platform for Nigerian young football players to exhibit their skills.

He said the theme of this year's edition, "Kick the pains with Boska" was part of their strategy to promot their product through sports.

According to him, the winner takes a sum of Three hundred thousand naira as cash prize award, the runers up smile home with two hundred thousand naira as the third placed team settle for One hundred thousand naira.
