Lagos MTN Street Soccer Kicks Off On Sunday

The third edition of the Lagos MTN Street Soccer Championship will kick off this Sunday at the Campos Square Mini Stadium, Lagos Island.
The State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, is expected to kick off the tournament as plans have been concluded to beam the opening ceremony live not only only local stations but also on Super sports.
The State's Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Prince Ademola Adeniji- Adele, made this known while speaking with sports journalists.
Eight hundred streets had registered to participate in the event which would be played in over fifty seven pitches across the state.
Adele, stated said the Local Organising Committee, L.O.C,have been set up in all the local governments and LCDA so as to stage a hitch free tournament.
The Commissioner revealed that the first- three teams will embark on a trip to South Africa for 12 days to watch the Super Eagles during the FIFA World Cup.
The chairman of Main Organising Committee, Tajudeen Oladeji,confirmed that four teams that would play exhibition matches to unveil the tournament.
According to the fixtures, Team KDK from Lagos Island East wil honour Team Afolami of Surulere Local Government while Team Ayodele of Amuwo Odofin Local Government takes on Team Okumuyide Agbado Oko-Odo just as Buruj Avenue will challenge Aiyetoro.
