Nigeria’s home –based Super Eagles are now in the right frame of mind to outplay their Republic of Niger in the return leg of the African Nations Championship billed for Sanni Abacha Stadium, Kano.
The team says they have enough in their tank to demolish the Mena of Niger in Sunday’s 2011 African Nations Championship qualifier taking place at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
Following the first leg mishap, Coach Daniel Amokachi called up a few more players, including Premier League leading scorer Ahmed Musa and midfielder Solomon Okpako to fortify the team in an effort to qualify for the championship which Nigeria failed to compete at in the maiden edition.
The Nigerian team lost the first leg 2- nil in Niamey two weeks ago, and have what appears an uphill task on its hands against the motivated neighbours to the north.
The team has been staying at the Tahir Guest Palace since landing in Kano on Tuesday.
The Nigerien team, scheduled to arrive in Kano on Friday evening, will be staying at the Ni’ima Guest Palace also in the metropolis.
Sunday’s match will kick off at 4pm, inside the Sani Abacha Stadium, one of the venues that hosted the FIFA Under 17 World Cup finals October/November last year.
